Home Visits

Home visits are carried out at the discretion of the doctor.

If you are too ill to attend the surgery, you may ask for a home visit. Please contact the surgery early in the day and be prepared to give some information about your problem.

Your request will be passed to a doctor who will decide the best course of action. This may be telephone advice, a prescription or a home visit by a visiting Nurse Practitioner or a Doctor.

When a visit is agreed, this will be passed to the locality (Weymouth and Portland) visiting team for the same day. Some visits are still carried out by the surgery Advanced Practitioners or GP.

You can also be visited at home by a Community Nurse if you are referred by your GP.

You should also be visited at home by a Health Visitor if you have recently had a baby.
